We love to be a part of your life, but how much do you know about us? CLIPPER is a Pioneer of lighters and accessories production. We were founded in Barcelona in 1959 by FLAMAGAS S.A. Our cylindric shape was designed by the well known architect and designer Enric Sarda in 1970. Nowadays Clipper is a worldwide icon for millions of smokers around the world.

CLIPPER leads refillable market. It’s superior quality and standards, are a reflection of our security and reliability. There’s no one better on quality and design!

MILESTONES

  • 1959
    FLAMAGAS SA was founded in Barcelona.
  • 1971
    FLAMAGAS creates the first iconic CLIPPER CLASSIC lighter.
  • 1972
    Opened the first CLIPPER factory in Barcelona and produced the first refillable lighter in the world.
  • 1989
    Launched CLIPPER BRIO lighter.
  • 1990
    We expanded our distribution with the opening of FLAMAGAS FRANCE.
  • 1995
    CLIPPER CLASSIC POCKET was born.
  • 2000
    FLAMAGAS INDIA factory opened.
  • 2001
    New distribution with the new subsidiaries: CLIPPER RUSSIA, CLIPPER PORTUGAL, CLIPPER TURKEY.
  • 2002
    We started the production of the new CLASSIC ELECTRONIC.
  • 2003
    Launch the CLIPPER BRIO MINI.
  • 2004
    Opened FLAMAGAS CHINA.
  • 2005
    Produced the first CLIPPER CLASSIC MINI.
  • 2006
    Launch of CLIPPER FIT and CLIPPER CLASSIC COVERS.
  • 2008
    CLIPPER UK subsidiary was born. First production of the models CLASSIC ELECTRONIC MINI, CLIPPER METAL LARGE and the Utility Lighter CLIPPER TUBE.
  • 2011
    Launch the first CLIPPER BRIO COVERS.
  • 2012
    Celebration of the 40th anniversary of the first CLIPPER LIGHTER. The new utitlity CLIPPER WAVE was born.
  • 2013
    Opening of our CLIPPER MEXICO subsidiary. We lanuched the CLIPPER METAL MINI.
  • 2015
    Opening of CLIPPER BRASIL subsidiary. Launched CLIPPER FIT MINI and CLIPPER MINITUBE Utility Lighter.
  • 2016
    Launch CLIPPER filters and papers family.
